Agreed. It’s disappointing what has happened to France. It’s a great country in many ways. Its economy has been getting strangled by bureaucracy, taxes and regulations. There is little social mobility, not even in new sectors like technology. Instead of allowing its own tech sector to flourish, the French government appears to have been supporting US companies at the expense of its own tech sector; facilitating US-based tech monopolies.

I hope they realize what’s been going on and will take additional steps to look after the interests of their own people. There is plenty of tech talent available but without protectionist policies (like the USA and most other countries have), France cannot sustain a healthy tech sector.
