At Amazon scale, they're not concerned about such petty things as the price of their real estate. They're concerned about society-level issues which could harm or destroy them. If you haven't noticed, corporations control the government and get massive contracts from them. Corporations don't want to disturb the current socio-political order as they are heavily affected by politics.
