I cannot see the dress as white and gold no matter what I do. It only looks black and blue. The problem is that the blue pigment on the dress is too vivid for it to be a shadow, especially because the light in the background is a bright golden yellow light. There is just no way that this kind of lighting environment would produce such a vivid blue shadow. I suspect that people who see black and gold have some kind of color blindness (either they don't fully perceive the blue pigment of the dress or they don't fully perceive the yellow pigment of the light in the background) because there is no way a shadow could give off such a vibrant blue tint, even with a dodgy camera... Even if I try to imagine that someone is shining a blue light at the dress, I cannot see it as white and gold.
