I've been saying this for years. What other reason can there be for an individual to want to limit their liability other than to escape the potential consequences of their actions?
This construct has no place in a fair, civilized society. It's not that difficult to trace and share liability.
In the criminal justice system, if 3 people commit a theft together, they are each charged with 1 count of theft and each get a full sentence.
In the civil ‘justice’ system, if 10 corporate executives commit theft together, they don't get any sentence at all. In the worst case, shareholders pay a small fine on their behalf. The liability is misdirected and then dissipated. Even the punishment, as a result of its misallocation, is itself a form of theft.
