I’ve never had imposter syndrome. It just wasn’t possible for me to get in this state of mind. I’ve always felt that I had to work much harder than everyone else to get the same thing. I also never got any pay raise or promotion without getting into intense haggling with my bosses; I had to quit many companies to get any pay raises. I always delivered to a very high standard — My code was well designed, well tested and without any major bugs. I worked nights and weekends on open source projects. I’m passionate about coding and I dedicated all of my life to perfecting the craft. Career-wise, it was a mistake. Nobody wants to hire really good coders. 99.9% of companies can’t pick out a good coder out of a crowd.
