Left-leaning people don't seem to realize how privileged and self-centered they come across sometimes. Calling Trump supporters 'Not-so-bright' signals a lack of empathy and close-mindedness.
We are not all equal. In fact, we are extremely unequal. There are people who have been crushed by the policies of past governments.
When left-leaning people complain about a political party, what I hear is that they were 'offended' by people in that party... Given this, it surprises me how outraged they are. This leads me to wonder what kind of blessed life these left-wing people must be living to believe that 'being offended' is the worst thing that can happen. Clearly they cannot imagine what has been happening to certain people at the hands of government policies.
I think if they knew what people were experiencing, they would not be surprised AT ALL why people voted for Trump. It's not that people are 'Not so bright' - Reality is that an environment has been created which makes Trump a logical choice. Many people who voted for him don't like him and don't think he will be good for them; they voted for him because they believe that he will cause fewer problems for them than the other side will.
Based on how they communicate, it seems to me that Kamala supporters voted on the basis of who they thought was better for them. On the other hand, Trump supporters voted on the basis of who they thought would be less harmful to them. That's why I sympathize with Trump supporters and I don't sympathize so much with Kamala supporters. And frankly, I find it distateful how the left belittles those who are less fortunate than themselves and how they deny the lived reality of others... In spite of their constant preaching of about respecting people's identities and personal truths... Very hypocritical.
