Of course people are looking for scapegoats. If the system was working properly, people would be minding their own business and focusing on improving themselves... The problem is that people now understand that there is no point to improve themselves because it makes no difference in terms of outcomes. The only way to advance one's own personal cause is to change the system. It's beyond altruism. Individuals are literally fighting to change the system for their own personal benefit. They want to be able to compete in a fair system. People are not asking for handouts or special treatment, they just want a level playing field. If our leaders can't solve our obvious problems, then they ought to step down and let someone else try, else they deserve to be scapegoated.
