Taking responsibility for your failures is good up to a point… But if you’re very persistent (e.g. over a decade of hard work), you may be disappointed to realize that learning and self-improvement has its limits. Eventually you may realize that nothing you do actually moves the needle; you can try doing something one way then try the opposite way and then every way in between and none of them will work. You could produce something that people love and keep praising you for and yet cannot make a living out of it. Sometimes it’s not your fault. Maybe the industry you’re trying to get into has been monopolized. The best you can do is give yourself time to study the industry you want to get into and figure out if it has been monopolized already before you commit to it. Though, even then, things can change so don’t rush into things.
